The Ghanaian-Canadian Heritage & Resource Centre is affiliated with the Ghanaian-Canadian Association of Ontario, with a distinct identity and governance structure, as described in the Centre’s founding materials.
Our vision brings cultural heritage and community life together: a place to share our traditions, strengthen connections, and create a sense of belonging across generations.

From the Centre’s fundraising publication. This message reflects the campaign at the time of writing, including its reference to May 2022.
On a bright spring afternoon in May 2022, leaders of our community and civic leaders joined together for the launch of the second phase of the fundraising efforts for the Ghanaian-Canadian Association of Ontario's Heritage Centre. Since then, associations, churches, individuals, and friends of Ghanaians have contributed to this cause, and on behalf of our leadership team, I want to thank you for your support thus far.
As I engage with community members to explain the goals and objectives of this project, your input, suggestions, and questions have been amazing and humbling. I implore you to keep engaging with us because our collective goal is to leave a legacy not only for our children but for many generations to come.
As Canadians of Ghanaian and African descent, this Heritage Centre will serve all communities.
To meet our goal of raising seed money for our Heritage Centre building, we are deploying a variety of fundraising strategies and tools. With immigration trends in an upward swing and second and third generations increasing, it behooves us all to put our shoulders to the wheel to build a Heritage Centre that would serve to provide Ghanaian-Canadians with an African learning centre, a community village, affordable housing, and a home.
For those of you who have contributed your time and money to this project, we ask for God's blessings on you and your families. We also pray for those who have yet to contribute, that you will be granted the opportunity to contribute generously.
We need you all more than ever as we strive for the successful implementation of this generational project.
What we are trying to accomplish is rooted in this African proverb: “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.” Let us keep moving.
